The problem
The client was struggling to incorporate user experience principles into their original prototype and sought to give a face to the name.
The solution
Design a web app that did exactly what it promises: to help your hunger find the food it craves. This was accomplished with a highly customizable filtering system that allows users to filter results via category, meal type, distance, emoji ratings, ambiance, offerings, and more. The design environment streamlined the process of developing and managing the data when it came to the eventual CMS on the client's platform host of choice.
The process
The entire engagement was six months. For the first 2/3 of the process was focused on:
• Identity development
• Competitive analysis
• Information architecture and content layout
Given the amount of strategy and available time, we felt comfortable as a pair to move forward with:
• Mid-fidelity screens
• Rounds of revisions through async and synchronous review
• High fidelity prototype
• Developer notes
Summary
based plant is a web app tool made to connect those in communities, towns, and cities — be they locals or travelers — to food that fit their dietary lifestyle. It was a passion project waiting to come to fruition after years had passed following its initially developed prototype.
